After a complete analysis, the Gonstead chiropractor is ready to deliver any necessary adjustments. The focus of the Gonstead adjustment is to be as specific, precise and accurate as possible, addressing only the problem areas (areas of subluxation). Great care is taken to ensure a bio-mechanically correct position and precise thrust to provide the most accurate and painless adjustment possible. Gonstead adjusting is a high-velocity, low-amplitude manipulation delivered to the spinal bones in order to restore proper motion between vertebral segments. Gonstead adjusting is superior to many of the other chiropractic techniques in that it focuses primarily on areas of fixation as opposed to areas of pain. Most other chiropractic techniques focus on adjusting areas of pain but do not address primary and secondary fixations. The Gonstead chiropractor attempts to find the primary spinal fixations and correct them which will resolve the painful secondary fixations much quicker. Once the spine has regained it’s mobility, treatment stops. We do not sign up patients for long treatment plans, but rather treat them for a few times and see how the body responds to the care. In many cases, the pain and spinal fixations are resolved in just a few visits.
